A

Obs - Signs of infection

What are the investigations?

A

To finish the exam i would like - to do a PR, check the groin for hernia and do urinalysis

By the bed - History and obs

Bloods - FBC, U/E, LFTs and albumin, Calcium/glucose/clotting (Child pugh), amylase, cultures.group and save

Others - ABG, AXR, Erect CXR, MRCP

Raised Amylase or anything suggesting pancreatitis from child pugh

What is the treatment?

A

Conservative - Explain wha tis happening to the patient and work out Child Pugh

Medical - Aggressie fluid management

Analgesia

Antibiotics if thats the cause

Surgical - Depends of cause, eg gall stones
