Obs - Signs of infection

What are the investigations?
To finish the exam i would like - to do a PR, check the groin for hernia and do urinalysis
By the bed - History and obs
Bloods - FBC, U/E, LFTs and albumin, amylase, cultures, group and save
Others - ABG, AXR, Erect CXR, US
What are the key investigation findings?
Raised WCC
US shows inflammation
What is the treatment?
Conservative - Explain what it is and put NBM
Medical - Fluids and analgesia
Surgical - Refer for surgical management
What are the risk factors?
Gall stones
Fat
Female
Fair
Forty
Fertile
What else can gall stones cause
Empyema
Mirrizzi
Ascending cholangitis
Pancreatitis
Gallstone ileus
