What are the common examination findings?
A
Obs - Signs of infection if perforated
Tender all over
Distension
High pitched tinkling bowel sounds

What are the investigations?
A
To finish the exam i would like - to do a PR, check the groin for hernia and do urinalysis
By the bed - History and obs
Bloods - FBC, U/E, LFTs and amylase, group and save
Others - ABG, AXR, Erect CXR

A
Signs of dilated bowel on xray
+/- perforation

A
Drip and suck - fluids and NG tube
