Not heritable

Conditions associated wit port wine stain

A

Glaucoma
Sturge Webber Syndrome (also affects blood vessels on scalp/lining of brain, can lead to seizures)
Klippel Trenaunay syndrome

What is a haemangioma and what’s the prognosis

A

Abnormal growth of blood vessels, goes away by itself within 2 years

When would you USS a haemangioma

A

If it’s near the eye
If there’s more than 5 (could mean it’s also in organs esp liver so do liver USS)
Deep
Single large capillary haemangioma

Management of haemangioma

A

Medical photography and review in 3 months
Topical steroid
Topical timolol if small
Oral propranolol if large

Refer in worrying place or laryngeal or ulcerated
