What kind of infection precedes ITP?
A
Viral

What advice would you give to someone after an ITP infection?
A
Avoid trauma sports/anything that might cause bleeding

Mx of ITP
A
Nothing, self resolving
but if plts <10, give corticosteroids
no point in transfusing as the antibodies would destroy anyway

Symptoms of ITP
A
Bruising - legs and arms
Purpura
Epistaxis =/ gingival bleed

HSP leads to nephritis or nephrotic syndrome?
A
Glomerulonephritis:
HTN, red cell casts, proteinuria, haematuria, azootemia (high urea and creatinine), oliguria

A
Rest and recuperate
