Model of perfection. Her fellow students did not like her as the professor always used her as a model of paragon.
Partisan
One- sided; prejudiced; committed to a party. Rather than joining forces, to solve the nations problems, they spent their time on partisan troubles.
Pathological
Pertaining to disease. He is a pathological liar!
Paucity
Scarcity. They closed the restaurant because the paucity of customers did not make it viable to operate.
Pedantic
Showing off learning; Bookish. She was not at all the pedantic scholar I once thought she was.
Penchant
Strong inclination; liking. Dave has a penchant for taking risks.
Penury
Severe poverty; stinginess. When the pension fund failed, Paul was worried he would end up in penury
Perennial
Something long lasting. These plants are hardy perennials and last for years.
Perfidious
Treacherous; disloyal. When Caesar was betrayed, he approached his perfidious friend.
Perfunctory
Superficial; not thorough; lacking interest, care or enthusiasm. The student completed his homework in a perfunctory manner.
Permeable
Penetrable; porous; allowing liquids or gas to pass through. If your gym clothes were not made out of permeable material you may drown in your on sweat.
Pervasive
Spread throughout. Despite airing her clothes for several hours, she could not rid them of the pervasive smell.
Phlegmatic
Calm; not easily disturbed. The nurse was a cheerful but phlegmatic person, unexcited in the face of sudden emergencies.
Placate
Pacify; conciliate. The manager tried to placate the customer by offering him a full refund.
Platitude
Trite remark; commonplace statement. His conversation was full of platitude.
