Yes they can.
There is a clip mechanism on top of the air supply unit

What system provides oxygen to the passengers ?
Gaseous oxygen stored in small high-pressure cylinders throughout the cabin ceiling PSUs (Passenger Service Units).

When does oxygen flow from cylinder begin ?
When :
• Oxygen masks are deployed,
• Mask is placed over the nose and mouth,
• Normal breathing is initiated.

Can the passenger oxygen system be manually deployed ?
YES, by pressing the PASS OXYGEN switch on the overhead panel.
An ON light located on the switch will illuminate when the passenger system is operating and the masks have dropped.

What triggers the automatic deployment of the passenger oxygen masks ?
Cabin altitude reaching the greater of :
• 14 500 feet
• Origin airfield altitude +1500 feet
• Destination airfield altitude +1500 feet

What does the amber ON light on the passenger oxygen switch indicate ?
- The passenger system is operating and
* The masks have dropped.

How can compensation or fogging be removed from the interior of the mask lens ?
By selecting the emergency position.

11 bottles.

Approximately how long will a Passenger O2 bottle (PSU) last ?
The oxygen cylinders are single use devices and once activated, provides oxygen until the cylinder is depleted.
Oxygen is available for approximately 60 minutes.
