NO, if smoke is detected in the aft cargo compartment, power may be removed from HF radios.

A tone lasting longer than 7 seconds.

NO, they are inhibited.

Communications Is there a Stuck Mic protection in flight ?
YES If a VHF or HF radio transmits for more than 30 seconds, the EICAS advisory message RADIO TRANSMIT CAPT, F/O, or OBS is displayed. The message is removed when the transmission stops.
Communications Is there a Stuck Mic protection on the ground ?
YES Any VHF radio transmission longer than approximately 35 seconds is automatically disabled. Several seconds before disablement, an intermittent tone can be heard through the audio system for that radio. That radio is re-enabled when its microphone switch is released.
