Q

What does the ALTN mean on the AC ESS XFER switch on the EPCP?

A

ALTN illuminates white when the AC ESS Bus is powered by AC Bus 2 (Normal source is Bus 1)

NOTE: If AC Bus 1 voltage or frequency is faulty, the AC Essential bus is automatically powered by AC Bus 2 and the switch illuminates (White)

This is monitored by the GCU (Generator Control Unit) and could take the AC BUS 1 offline, thru

  • Over/Under Voltage
  • Over/Under Frequency
  • Generator and bus Over current
  • Generator Phase Sequence
  • AC Power Center

18
Q

What does the FAIL portion mean on the GRAVITY XFLOW switchlight on the FCP?

A

FAIL: The gravity crossflow valve is not in the commanded position

19
Q

What happens when you push in the L/R XFLOW switchlight on the FCP?

A

Push In: The XFLOW pump operates and transfers fuel to the selected side (must have the XFLOW AUTO OVERRIDE switch selected to manual mode for the pump to operate).

The ON light illuminates

20
Q

What happens when you RELEASE OUT the L/R XFLOW switchlight on the ECP?

A

The XFLOW pump stops

The ON light extinguishes

21
Q

What does the FAIL portion on the L/R XFLOW switchlight on the FCP mean?

The XFLOW pump fails to operate or is in an uncommanded position

22
Q

What happens when you PUSH IN the XFLOW AUTO OVERRIDE SWITCH on the FCP?

A
  • Arms the XFLOW pump for manual XFLOW operation

- Automatic operation is disabled (MAN light illuminates white)

23
Q

What happens when you RELEASE OUT the XLOW AUTO OVERRIDE switchlight on the FCP?

A

Arms the XFLOW pump for automatic crossflow operation.
Manual operation is disabled (MAN light extinguishes)

Note: L and R XFLOW shutoff valve switchlights illuminates ON (white) when auto XFLOW operates automatically (controlled by the Fuel System Computer)

24
Q

What is the CLSD portion of the BLEED VALVES rotary switch on the BLEED AIR panel mean?

A

Closes all bleed sources. This position should be selected when an external pneumatic ground cart is in use to prevent damage to the engine or APU bleed systems

25
Q

What is the AUTO portion mean on the BLEED VALVES rotary switch on the BLEED AIR panel?

A

The air conditioning system controllers manage the configuration of the pneumatic system

26
Q

What does the MANUAL position mean on the BLEED VALVES rotary switch on the BLEED AIR panel?

A

Enables the crew to manually configure the pneumatic system using the bleed source and isol switches

27
Q

EXPLAIN L ENG, R ENG, BOTH ENG, APU positions of the BLEED SOURCE KNOB on the BLEED AIR panel?

A

NOTE: BLEED SOURCE KNOB IS ENABLED WHEN THE BLEED VALVES ROTARY SWITCH IS IN THE MANUAL position!
