A

itching, irritation, chewing and manipulation of the tragus can cause pain, ear discharge

A
  1. Deafness
  2. Persistent pain from within the ear
  3. Tinnitus
  4. Vertigo
  5. Blocked ears
  6. Discharge
  7. Bleeding
  8. N/V
  9. Children <12 years

What tx options are available for otitis externa?

A
  1. Choline salicylate - Earex Plus - given >1 years ear should be filled with drops and then a cotton wool soaked within the ear - repeat every 3-4 hours
  2. Acetic Acid (EarCalm Spray) - >12 years
    one spray TDS - continue for 2 days if no improvement seek medical attention
