Useful numerical value to summarise a group of studies; however, the studies may not be comparible

Detailed study of a single individual, institution or event using many different research methods
In-depth data related to write events/behaviours; however, generalisation may not be justified and data may be unreliable because retrospective and there is no before comparison
Discuss and evaluate content analysis
Form of indirect observation of the artefacts people produce
High ecological validity is the cost based on real events, easily replicated; however, may suffer from Observer bias
