What is the difference between OTC and morphine?
there is a ceiling @ some point with OTC
M - add more and your will get more
Which has more S/E at OTC dosing between ace and ibu?
they are the same at OTC dosing
Does having ibu with food help with ulcer prevention?
yes saves esophagus and slows down the onset of action
What is manufacturing process that helps with prevention of ulcers?
enteric coating so that it only start releasing in the stomach and slower
Which would better to take too much ace or ibu?
ibu –> less toxic
Ace is bad in OD
What is in night pain medications?
pain med plus dph (s/e sleepiness)
What is the difference between headache and migraine?
Headache
pain around forehead
mild dull press
typically short
non recurring
Migraine
pain on sides
intense pulsing
can last days

What is the choice of drug for osteoarthritis?
Ace
What is recommended for dysmenorrhea
prostaglandin (derived)
midtol (has ace, caffeine and pyrilamine)
What is recommended for toothaches?
ibu and ace alteration every 3 hours
Can you use Advil + ace for toothaches?
not as they are sub therapeutic for this
What is medication overuse headaches?
like rebound congestion but with drugs causing migraines
What is recommended for hangovers?
use NSAIDs b/c ace is processed in the liver
Can you take ASA and pain killers together?
not use 2 HR after ASA or 8 HR before ASA
