A

-Health hx: when pain, limp, or limitation of motion was first noticed
-dull pain may be present for several months, eventually progressing to limp or gait changes
-inspect affected limb for erythema and swelling
-palpate affected area for warmth and tenderness and to determine size of soft tissue mass, if also present
-monitor for metastasis
