what is natural evil?
Any evil that has been caused by nature e.g floods.
what is moral evil?
Evil actions caused by humans making bad decisions and misusing their free will. e.g murder, stealing
what is original sin
In Genesis Adam and Eve decided to eat the forbidden fruit from the tree of knowledge of good and evil going against God’s wishes.
All humans have a desire to do bad things about not eating the fruit.
What is the Fall?
The first original sin is known as The Fall.
It is the moment when Adam and Eve fell from the perfect state that God created them in Genesis.
How did the fall cause evil and suffering?
As a result of this pain and suffering and natural suffering were introduced to the perfect world and brought disorder into humanity and nature (helps explain natural evil too): creation was now off balance.
Since that time all humans have original sin, the tendency to go against God.
Original sin is a reminder that we all share some responsibility for the evil and suffering in the world.
How can this a Catholics life?
Catholics would baptise their children as the sacrament of baptism absolves a person of Original Sin, made possible through the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross.
