To come closer to God by giving him time and attention
To do a penitential act as a reflection of sorrow and sin.

it is a journey of self discovery, most noticeably for those who are sick - very few come back feeling cured but many may feel at peace and able to accept and cope with the problems they face.

What is Lourdes?
A popular Catholic pilgrimage site in the South of France.
It became famous after 14 year old Bernadette had visions of the Virgin Mary. In these visions Mary told Bernadette to dig for water and wehn she did a spring appeared.
Many peple have bathed in the waters of the spring which is belived to have miraculous powers.
What can young people do at Lourdes?
They can volunteer as helpers for the sick and siabled pilgrims which can be a life changing experience. it is a practical way that oringary people can resoond to the mystery of suffering
What can Lourdes show?
Out of suffering can come good beause young people bolunteer to help tjose in need of a menaignful experience.
