A

Coronary arteries get blocked by layers of fatty materials arteries become narrow so blood flow is restricted and there is a lack of oxygen to the heart muscle

A

Reduce risk of stroke heart attacks and coronary heart disease

Increase amount of HDL cholesterol which can remove LDL cholesterol

May also help prevent other diseases

A

Have to be taken regularly so patient may forget to take them

Side effects may include liver damage kidney failure headaches memory loss

Effect isnt instat. Takes time for their effect to kick in

A

Surgery can lead to bleeding and infection
Parts of the heart could wear out

Blood doesn’t flow through as smoothly which can lead to blood clots and lead to strokes

Patient has to take drugs to make sure blood doesn’t clot which is a problem if they are involved in an accident where they are bleeding
