First choice

A
  • Oesophagogastroduodenoscopy (OGD) with biopsy
  • Comprehensive metabolic profile - advanced cases show hypokalaemia, increase creatinine and serum urea/nitrogen
  • CT for staging

MANAGEMENT

General principles

A
  • If low grade endoscopic resection with or without ablation
  • If higher grade and surgical candidate oesophagectomy
  • If higher grade and not surgical candidate chemotherapy and radiotherapy alone
