Produced from week 5 of pregnancy
Growth hormone like effect - protein and tissue formation
Causes a decrease in insulin sensitivity in mother = more glucose for baby
Involved in breast development
Indicator of fetus viability

What are sertoli cells
Sertoli cells are the somatic cells of the testis that are essential for testis formation and spermatogenesis
Leydig cells
LH causes the leydig cells to produce testosterone
GFR and pregnancy
Decreases when sitting
Increases when supine
Big increase when in lateral position and sleeping
