NM Perceptual Function Flashcards

1
Q

What is homonomous hemianopsia?

A

Loss of 1/2 visual fields in each side (same side) C/L to side of cerebral lesion.

So if I have R visual field loss in each eye, its a lesion or pressure on L optic tract, or L occipital lobe

Q

How do you test body scheme/body image disorders (somatognosia)?

A

Have pt ID body parts and relationship to each other

I.E. The elbow is to the arm as the _____ is to the leg. (Knee)

Q

What is agnosia?

A

Inability to recognize familiar objects with one sensory modality while retaining ability to recognize some object with other sensory modalities
