EPIRB
When activated, provides a signal to orbiting satellites (COSPAS/SARSAT). Satellites translate the signal and re-transmit a location of distress back to earth so that SAR units may be dispatched to the scene.
SART
A search and rescue locating device that assists rescuing vessels and aircraft locate distressed vessel by transmitting with a radar signal that creates a series of dots. Automatically transmit a signal upon reception of a designated incoming signal from a X-band satellite . AIS-SART is a self-contained radio device use to locate a distressed vessel by using a standard AIS class A position report
INMARSAT C
Provides a two-way store and forward message system with a small, low-cost terminals. This is a text only system. Text message, two-way telex and low speed computer data can be transmitted and received.
VHF Radio/VHF DSC
Transmits and receives on VHF frequencies ( Channel 6, 13, 16 and 70)
MF/HF Radio
Transmits and receives on MF/HF frequencies
NAVTEX Receiver
A direct printing service that receives Marine Safety Information (MSI) containing weather and navigational warnings and urgent info
Survival Craft Radios
Portable VHF Radios that provides for on-scene voice communications capabilities in emergency situations
LRIT (Long Range Identification and Tracking)
Identification similar to AIS
GMDSS Maintenance Options
