What is Class I
Patients with cardiac disease but without activity limitations.
Ordinary physical activity does not cause undue fatigue, palpitation, dyspnea or anginal pain.
What is Class II
Patients with cardiac disease resulting in slight limitation of physical activity.
Comfortable at rest. Ordinary physical activity results in fatigue, palpitations, dyspnea or anginal pain.
What is Class III
Patient with cardiac disease resulting in marked limitation of physical activity.
They are comfortable at rest. Less than ordinary physical activity causes fatigue, palpitation, dyspnea or anginal pain.
What is Class IV
Patients with cardiac disease resulting in inability to carry on any physical activity without discomfort.
Symptoms may be present at rest. If any physical activity is taken, discomfort is increased.

6.5 METs
Class II Maximum Met Level?
4.5 METs
Class III Maximum Met Level?
3.0 METs
Class IV Maximum Met Level?
1.5 METs
