A
- have to display symptoms during primary developmental stages—not preschool but in kindergarten
- there is an excess of some kind of systemotology and a deficit of some symptom
- areas are in personal, social, academic and occupational
- medical sensory issues or physical impairment you need to be careful around occupational functioning area

Intellectual Developmental Disorder
A
- needs to be some kind of intellectual issue
- on top of IQ issues there is some adaptive issue
- need to have at least two standard deviations below the average IQ

Global Developmental Delay
A
-for kids that are under age of five that we cannot assess

Language Disorder
A
- expressive–speaking
- receptive–listening and understanding
- persistent difficulties in using language across modalities

Social (Pragmatic) Communication Disorder
A
- social communication issues verbally and nonverbally
- it is not the mechanics but it is the engagement and use of communication
- struggles in greeting people, acknowledging people and sharing knowledge with other people and choosing the appropriate time to share information
- struggles with knowing when to end and shift topics. Knowing when to join topics. Nuances that go along with language.
- language and communication is extremely concrete. References and contexts are a loss.

Autism Spectrum Disorder
A
- two domains (social communication issues, restrictive repetitive behaviors/ interests)
- they have so much knowledge on that topic
- there are a lot of co occurring disorders that go along with autism–intellectual impairments, genetic disorders and catatonia

Attention Deficit/ Hyperactivity Disorder
A
- if the child is 17 and older they only need to have FIVE of the diagnostic criteria, if they are 17 and under they need to have at least SIX of the diagnostic criteria
- inattention piece
1. fails to give close attention to details in tasks or makes careless mistakes
2. has difficulty sustaining attention in tasks or play activities
3. doesn’t seem to listen when spoken to directly
4. doesn’t follow through on instructions and fails to finish schoolwork, chores
5. has difficulty organizing tasks and activities
6. avoids, dislikes, or is reluctant to engage in tasks that require sustained mental effort
7. loses things necessary for tasks or activities
8. easily distracted by extraneous stimuli
9. often forgetful in daily activities - hyperactivity piece
1. often fidgets with or taps hands or feet or squirms in seat
2. often leaves seat in situations when remaining seated is expected
3. often runs about or climbs in situations where it’s inappropriate
4. often unable to play or engage in leisure activities quietly
5. is often “on the go”, acting as if “driven by a car”
6. often talks excessively
7. often blurts out an answer before a question has been completed
8. has difficulty waiting his or her turn
9. often interrupts or intrudes on others

Tic Disordrs
A
- have three types of tics (Tourette’s Disorder, Persistent Motor or Vocal Tic Disorder, Provisional Tic Disorder)
- Tourette’s has both motor and vocal piece of tics
- persistent motor or vocal tic disorder only have one or the other
