Separation Anxiety Disorder
- most under 12, rare happen to adult
- lasting at least 4 weeks in children and typically 6 months in adults
Selective Mutism
- they choose not to involved in the activity needs to talk
- at least 1 month
- onset usually before age of 5
Specific Phobia
- lasting for at least 6 months
- most specific phobias develop in childhood and adolescence
- know “what” cause the anxiety
Social Anxiety Disorder
- 1 or more social situations
- lasting for at least 6 months
- prevalence decrease with age
- median age of onset is 13
- comorbidity with depression is high in older adults
- followed by embarrassed and humiliated
Panic Disorder
- at least 1 of the attacks has been followed by 1 month of one or both of the following: persistent worry about having additional panic attacks and a change in behavior related to attacks
- median age of onset is 10-24(14)
Panic Attack Specifier
- at least 4: increase heart rate, sweating, shaking, shortness of breath, chest pain, choking feeling, nausea, dizzy, chills, numbness, derealizations, fear of losing control, fear of dying
- mean age of onset is 22-23
- exist within all anxiety disorders
Agoraphobia
- at least 2: using public transportation, being in open spaces, being in enclosed spaces, standing in line/being in a crowd, being outside of the home alone
- escape might be difficult or help unavailable
- lasting at least 6 months
Generalized Anxiety Disorder
- excessive anxiety and worry occurring more days than not for at least 6 months
- anxiety and worry associated with 3 of the following: restlessness, easily fatigued, difficulty concentrating, irritability, muscle tension, sleep disturbance
- median onset is 30 years old
