A

LANs often use cables (UTP/STP) in orer to connect the devices although WiFi can be used for Wireless LANS.

LANS are normally used in small geographical scale like school or office buildings or homes.

LAN allows network devices like printers to be shared by all of the computers or devices on the network

The router normally connects all devices to network and the WAN (internet)

A WAN is the biggest network over a large geographical scale.

A WAN is used when several LANs are connected together such as LANs from different countries for a multinational business.

The internet is the most well-known and biggest WAN in the world.

A

A PAN uses Bluetooth and WiFi to connect devices in a persons workspace

A PAN could include the mobile phones as a central hub on which you can connect smart watches, headphones and other devise like fitness trackers too to share and send data over a PAN network

VPN

A

This technology creates a secure network connection over a public network, usually the internet by using encryption.

This allows anyone who connects to a VPN to have a secure WAN without paying the high costs of constructing a physical network as they can use the existing internet network WAN.
