Nervous System Flashcards
Homeostasis
Homeostasis is about maintaining an optimim internal environment in the body.
This needs to happen in response to internal and external changes.
For example- body temperature, water content of the blood, sugar levels in the blood.
Pathway through the nervous system
Stimulus, receptors, coordination centre, effectors
Skin stimulus
Stimulus is pressure and temperature
Nose stimulus
Chemical and smell
Eyes stimulus
Light waves
Tongue stimulus
Taste
Ear stimulus
Sound waves
What is the difference between the structure of the sensory and motor neurones?
The cells that carry impulses from your sense organs, to your cns are callse sensory neurones, where as motor neurones send impulses out along special cells
