Navigation Flashcards
What is the purpose of the ADIRS system ?
It supplies temperature, anemometric, barometric and inertial parameters to PFD, ND and other systems such as FMGS, FADEC, ELAC, SEC, FWC, GPWS, CPC….
What an ADIRU is made of ?
Each ADIRU is divided in 2 parts :
- ADR
- IR
How many ADIRU are there ?
3 identical ADIRU
What are the different types of sensors ?
There are 4 types of sensors :
- Pitot probes
- Static pressures probes
- AoA sensors
- TAT probes
How many Air Data Modules are there ?
8 Air Data Modules
What is the purpose of the Air Data Module ?
To convert pneumatic data from PITOT - STATIC into numerical data for the ADIRU
What is the purpose of the ADR ?
It supplies baro alt, airspeed, mach, AoA, temp °C and overspeed warnings
What is the purpose of the IR ?
It supplies attitude, flight path vector, track, heading, acceleration, groundspeed and A/C position
Which probes supply which ADIRU ?
ADIRU 1 : CAPT probes
ADIRU 2 : F/O probes
ADIRU 3 : SBY probes and CAPT TAT
What are the different Back-Up Speed Scale (BUSS) configurations ?
- No Back-Up Speed Scale (BUSS) available :
= thrust / pitch tables in the QRH - Back-Up Speed Scale (BUSS) available but no reversible :
= activation required by QRH, action irreversible as all ADR are OFF - Reversible Back-Up Speed Scale (BUSS) :
= activation required by QRH. Use of BUSS pb next to PFD - Digital Back-Up Speed Scale (DBUS)
= Similar to reversible BUSS, but provides more information than standard BUSS.
What is the purpose of the BUSS system ?
To fly the A/C when airspeed indications are unreliable
What is the restriction of the BUSS system ?
BUSS and reversible BUSS are not available above FL250
DBUS has no restriction above FL250
How many PITOT probes are there ?
3 PITOT probes
How many STATIC probes are there ?
6 STATIC probes
How many TAT probes are there ?
2 TAT probes
