Landing Gear Flashcards
What is the purpose of the shimmy damper ?
To reduce landing vibrations
How many LGCIU are there ?
2 independant LGCIU
Which hydraulic system powers the LDG ?
GREEN HYD system
When does the LGCIU changeover occur ?
After one complete cycle (UP and DOWN selection)
At what speed does the safety valve remain close to prevent unwanted gear extension at high speed ?
If speed > 260 kt
What happens to the doors during free fall extension ?
They remain open after the extension
To which panel is the LDG indicator panel connected ?
To the LGCIU 1
What does UNLK red light mean on the LDG indicator panel ?
If gear not locked in the selected position
What does a green triangle mean on the LDG indicator panel ?
If gear is locked down
What does a red arrow mean on the LDG selector ?
If LDG is not downlocked when the A/C is in landing configuration (with red ECAM warning)
How many times does the gravity selector must be turn ?
3 times clockwise
What does control the NWS ?
The Brake Steering Control Unit (BSCU)
Which system supplies the NWS
The YELLOW HYD system
NWS is a function of what ?
Function of speed
When is the maximum travel of the NWS ?
Limited to +/-75° up to 20kt and is reduced until fully inhibited at 80 kt
Rudder pedal steering is a function of what ?
Function of speed
When is the maximum travel of the rudder pedal steering ?
It reduces past 40kt and is inhibited above 130kt
What is the maximum towing angle ?
+/- 95°
Which system supply the braking ?
GREEN for normal braking
YELLOW for alternate braking
How many modes are there for the normal braking system ?
2 modes : manual and automatic
How many settings for the autobrake ?
LOW - MED - MAX
What is the deceleration rate in LOW/MED ?
LOW : 2m/s2
MED : 3m/s2
What is the DECEL light ?
When the deceleration is 80% of the selected rate
What is the pressure of the YELLOW accumulator ?
2100 PSI, equivalent to 7 full brakes applications (with max 1000PSI per application)
How long can the parking brake be supplied by the accumulator ?
Around 12 hours
