Air Conditioning Flashcards
What is the equivalent in % for the LOW - NORM - HIGH for the PACK FLOW VALVE
80% - 100% - 120%
What is the range in °C for the trim air valves ?
From 18°C to 30°C
What is HOT AIR pb ?
To optimize temperature control, hot air is tapped upstream of the pack (to respond to quick demand). ACSC1 regulates this valve.
When does HOT AIR pressure valve closes ?
It closes automatically if :
- Both lanes ACSC1 or ACSC2 fail
- Duct overheat (T°>88°C)
- At least two trim air valves fail
When does the pack control valve closes ?
- When no air pressure
- In case of an overheat (T°>260°C) on ground only
- During engine start
- Operation of the Fire / Ditching pb
What is the pack control valve ?
It regulates the airflow in accordance with signals received from pack controller or ACSC
What is the Anti Ice valve ?
Opens automatically when pressure drops to prevent ice formation in the condenser
What is the bypass valve ?
It modulates HOT AIR to respond to quick changes
What is the condenser ?
Cold air from the turbine decreases to less than its dewpoint.
Water in the air condenses
What is the water extractor ?
It removes the condensed water. Temperature is limited to +2°C to +70°C in the water extractor to prevent freezing
How many distribution zones ?
Cockpit - Forward cabin - Aft cabin
What is the purpose of the recirculation fans ?
To send air overboard, to prevent unpleasant smells making their way into the cabin
Cockpit trim air valves are controlled by … ?
ACSC1
Cabin trim air valves are controlled by … ?
ACSC2
What is the purpose of emergency RAM air ?
It ventilates the cockpit and cabin to remove smoke, or if both pack fail. It is controlled by the RAM air pb.
