What is the purpose of NATOPS?
NATOPS products have been developed to improve aviation safety and readiness throughout the Navy and Marine Corps. However, no manual can address every situation completely or be a substitute for sound judgment.

Starboard rear seat may be installed if dipping sonar removed.
Center rear seat may be installed if dipping sonar, RAST, and sono launcher removed.
Port rear seat may be installed if dipping sonar and sono launcher removed.
What is the warning about the SO console with pax in port and center rear seat?
In the event of a crash, the SO console seat poses a head strike hazard to passengers in both seats. If the port or center rear seat is occupied, the SO console seat shall be unoccupied and secured full forward.
What is the only seat allowed in the instructor seat location?
Simula seat
What is the warning about the instructor seat with the GAU-21 installed?
Instructor seat shall not be occupied with the GAU-21 in the inboard stow position.
What is the warning about the RAST probe with a center rear seat?
Seat shall be removed if RAST probe installed due to it preventing proper stroking of the seat in the event of a crash.
