Adenocarcinoma

Lymphoma

What are the three kinds of nasal surgeries?
Nasal planum resection
Rhinotomy
Sinusotomy
What is the most common indication for performing a nasal planum resection?
Neoplasia- SCC
What is the difference in what is accessed through a dorsal/ventral rhinotomy?
Dorsal: access to nasal cavity and sinuses
Ventral: access to ventral nasal cavity and choanae
What series of dx tests will you run on a patient you suspect nasal disease in?
MDB Thoracic rads Sedated oral exam Imaging- CT Rhinoscopy
When do you perform the rhinoscopy?
AFTER imaging
What test should be performed if you suspect Bartonella and Mycoplasma spp?
PCR-culture not likely to be helpful
What is a major risk of nasal surgery?
Hemorrhage- dorsal, lateral and major palatine arteries
