Naloxone indications:
-Narcotic and synthetic analgesic drug overdoses
*morphine, heroin, oxycodone, methadone, codeine, meperidine, fentanyl, hydrocodone, hydromorphone
-Unconsciousness of unknown etiology
Naloxone Contraindication:
None in emergency setting
Naloxone S/E:
-Withdrawal symptoms: Confusion, Hypotension, Tachycardia, Hypertension, Dysrhythmias, Diaphoresis, Nausea/vomiting
Naloxone Routes:

Naloxone Onset:
2-10 min
Naloxone Adult dosages:
-2.0 mg; may repeat every 2 min
-ET: 4.0 mg diluted in 10 mL saline
-IN: 1.0 mg sprayed in each nostril w/ MAD; may repeat every 2 min
Naloxone PEDS dosages:
-0.1 mg/kg (up to 2.0 mg per dosage); may repeat every 2 min
-ET: 2.0-4.0 mg diluted in 3-5 mL saline
-IN: 1.0 mg sprayed in each nostril w/ MAD; may repeat every 2 min
