Lorazepam Indications:
-Seizure activity
-Status epilepticus
-Procedural sedation for intubation and cardioversion
-Chemical restraint for agitated (excited) delirium
-Severe anxiety
Lorazepam Contraindication:
Hypersensitivity
Lorazepam S/E:
-Sedation
-Transient amnesia
-Respiratory depression
-Respiratory arrest
-Bradycardia
-Hypotension
-Dizziness
-Drowsiness
-Blurred vision
-Nausea/vomiting
Lorazepam Routes:
IV
IO

Lorazepam Onset:
-IV/IO: 1-5 min
-IM: 15-30 min
Lorazepam Adult Dosages:
-Seizure IV/IO: 2.0-5.0 mg over 2 min
-Seizure IM: 2.0-5.0 mg
-Procedural sedation IV/IO: 2.0 mg over 2 min
-Procedural sedation IM: 4.0 mg
*max dosage: 10 mg
