Myology of the Arm Flashcards
Coracobrachialis Attachments
- Coracoid process
- Middle, medial humerus
Coracobrachialis Movements
G-H Flexion
G-H Adduction
Biceps Brachii Attachments
- (Long Head) through Bicipital Groove to Supraglenoid Tubercle
- (Short Head) Coracoid Process
- Radial Tuberosity. Bicipital Aponeurosis
What does the tendon of Biceps Brachii have? Why?
Tendon sheath to protect it from the transverse humeral ligament
What does the transverse humeral ligament do?
Holds the tendon of biceps brachii in place during contraction/movement
What is the bicipital aponeurosis?
Fascia that runs from the biceps tendon and merges with the fascia of the anterior forearm
Actions of Biceps Brachii
G-H Flexion (long head) Elbow Flexion (PM in supination)
Brachialis Attachments
- Anterior distal 1/2 of the humerus
- Ulnar tuberosity, coronoid process
Actions of Brachialis
PM Elbow Flexion
Triceps Brachii Attachments
- (Long Head) Infraglenoid tubercle
- (Lateral Head) Posterior proximal humerus (superior to radial groove)
- (Medial Head) Posterior distal humerus (inferior to radial groove)
- Olecranon Process
Actions of Triceps Brachii
G-H Extension
PM Elbow Extension
Anconeus Attachments
- Lateral epicondyle
- Olecranon Process
Action of anconeus
Elbow extension (assists triceps)
