Malbec (1)
Catena Malbec 2021
Catena Malbec presents a deep violet color with purple reflections. This microclimate blend of four unique vineyards offers intense aromas, soft texture, and concentrated flavor. Deep aromas of ripe red and dark fruits are joined by delicate violet and lavender notes, with traces of vanilla and mocha. A rich, concentrated mouthfeel is highlighted by flavors of blueberries and blackberries with a touch of leather and cinnamon. The wine has well-integrated tannins, bright acidity, and a flinty minerality that provides exceptional length to the finish.
Pair with roast turkey, grilled steak, salmon, and pasta with red sauce.
Rioja
La Rioja Alta Vino Ardanza Reserva 2016
La Rioja Alta is the gold standard for traditional Rioja bodegas. This stellar vintage of their Viña Ardanza is a return to their classic Garnacha/Tempranillo blend. It’s made from 30-year-old vines and aged for three years in oak. This brings you an indulgently rich Reserva with plenty of ripe fruit flavour and silk-smooth tannins. It has notes of red fruits, vanilla, liquorice and cinnamon. Perfect with roast chicken and lamb.
Chianti (1)
Castello di Volpaia Chianti Classico 2020
An iconic wine that the Mascheroni Stianti family have been producing since 1967, when only very few producers used to produce a Chianti Classico Riserva. It’s produced with 100% of Sangiovese coming from some of the highest vineyards of the Chianti. The unique microclimate and the soil composition of “macigno Toscano” donate to this Sangiovese some of its outstanding complexity and elegance.
Bordeaux - Listrac-Medoc
Chateau Clarke Listrac-Medoc 2012 - Main grape Merlot, Secondary Cab Sauv
Château Clarke owes its uniqueness to its complex and atypical Médoc terroir: 55 hectares in a single parcel, situated mainly on clay-limestone outcrops. Part of the Baron Edmond de Rothschild stable, Château Clarke’s terroir is perfect for producing Merlot, despite the fact that it’s a rarity in Médoc. It will come as no surprise that attention to detail is paramount at this estate, and every effort is made to promote sustainability and preserve their local ecosystem. And all this care and attention results in a truly spectacular wine. Expect a dense, powerful wine with silky tannins and flavours of black fruits, menthol, liquorice and oaky hints. It’s perfect with grilled meats or with a cheeseboard.
Bordeaux - Pomerol
Chateau Plince Pomerol 2016 - Main grape Merlot, Cab Franc, Cab Sauv
Definite blackberry, liquorice, tea and oak, with a little touch of earth and leather. It’s a complex wine that’s incredibly well balanced, with just the right acidity and tannins to make it feel vibrant and alive through the strong finish.
Sauvignon Blanc - Loire
Domaine Naudet Sancerre 2022
This is a high-quality, single-estate Sancerre that perfectly exhibits the typical minerally terroir of the region. It’s created from a small parcel of fruit from the Domaine and meticulously crafted by Jean and Michel Naudet. An excellent wine to enjoy with with delicate salads and seafood dishes.
Sauvignon Blanc - Marlborough
Little Beauty 2022 -
This little privately owned estate lies in Marlborough’s Southern Valleys where the wines differ slightly from the mainstream. The property is spread over five plots, each with its own soil profile and micro climate, which allows wine maker Eveline Fraser (ex Cloudy Bay) the chance to make unusually complex, multi dimensional wines. The wine making is modern, but there is more than a nod towards tradition; in ‘Little Beauty’ the best of new and the best of the old unite together seamlessly.
Albarino - Spain
Martin Codax Albarino 2022
Made entirely from grapes grown in the winery’s own vineyards in the Salnés valley, this Martín Códax wine is a quintessential Albariño; inviting the drinker to taste and appreciate the pure essence of this varietal. The Albariño is an aromatic grape with a strong concentration of sugar and a high level of acidity which gives the wine its freshness and character.
The wine has a beautiful yellow colour with green and shiny hints. In the nose, aromas of apple and ripe citric fruits (mandarin and lemon) stand out, giving a clue to the perfect balance it offers on drinking. White flowers (mimosa and orange blossom) blend in with herbaceous hints of hay and fennel, rounding off a charming, and discretely balsamic, almost minty, nose. Enveloping, fresh and creamy in the mouth, it has a long finish with elegant mineral aromas appearing which may remind us of talcum and salt, and bring character and lightness to the wine. It eventually becomes elegantly bitter at the finish.
Pinot Grigio - Valdadige - Veneto
Santa Margherita Pinot Grigio 2022
Santa Margherita Pinot Grigio Valdadige is an acclaimed Italian white wine, cherished for its premium quality and distinctive flavour profile. Originating from the exquisite Valdadige region, this wine boasts a refreshing, crisp palate with subtle citrus undertones. The vivid aroma is finely balanced, combining hints of peach and green apple, making it delightfully fragrant. Best paired with seafood or poultry dishes.
Chardonnay - Margaret River
Leeuwin Estate Art series Chardonnay 2021
Apricot intensity on the nose. And fresh hazelnut, cumin, lightly pan-warmed walnuts. Quince and gorgeous greengage on the palate. Has opulent spread but a charge of acidity that turns satin as it fills the mouth. Top notes of jasmine. A bite of grapefruit. The oak, again, like the Prelude, is so beautifully folded into the wine that even at this young stage it is not a feature, just part of the story, part of the flow. Aristocratic bearing, proud, elegant.
Chardonnay - Willamette
Domaine Drouhin Chardonnay Arthur 2021
It is medium-bodied, with frisky acidity and a texture that’s like biting into a cold, crisp apple. It is packed with aromas and flavours of Golden Delicious apples, lemon butter, ginger, butter, brioche and white peony tea
Chardonnay - Burgundy
Louis Jadot Meursault 2019
It has very shallow soils and a southerly aspect, which promote both low yields and excellent ripening. This wine exhibits the typical Meursault roundness and approachability, with a pleasing crispness and nutty accents.
