the skull has two parts
cranium and face
The cranium is formed by 6 bones
2 parietal
2 temporal
occipital
frontal
C1-C7 (neck) first 7 vertebrae most prone to injury
cervical spine
T1-T12 (upper back) ribs attached to spine
thoracic spine
L1-L5 (lower back) least mobile of the vertebrae most lower back injuries
lumbar spine
S1-S5 (back wall of pelvis) form rigid part of the posterior side of the pelvis
sacral spine
(tailbone) last 4 vertebrae fused together
coccyx
this is composed of the ribs, sternum, and thoracic spine
