Trapezius
superficial back muscle - Runs from the neck to middle back. Looks like a diamond across the top of the torso
Latissimus dorsi
Big muscle that covers whole of middle to lower back. Looks like upside down triangle - Superficial
Levator Scapulae
long thin Muscle that runs from neck to medial border of the scapula - raises scapula runs deep to the trapezius
Rhomboideus Major
thick muscle deep to trapezius that connects the vertabral column to the scapula
Rhomboideus Minor
Thin muscle that connects the back to the scapula. Runs deep to the trapezius. Just above the Rhomb. Major
Erector Spinae
Group of muscles that run up the spinal column - extends the back
Pectoralis Major
Superficial breast muscle that flexes and adducts the arm
Serratus anterior
Muscle of the middle to lower ribs that attach horizontaly
Pectoralis Minor
Deep to the Pectoralis Major. Attaches to top ribs at an angle
External intercostals
Deep muscle between the ribs. Muscle grain runs to make a V shape
Internal intercostals
Deep muscles between ribs. Muscle grain makes an upside down V
Rectus Abdominus
Superficial 6 Pack muscles
External Obliques
Superficial abdominal muscles to either side of the rectus abd. grain runs in a V shape
Internal Obliques
Deep abdominal muscle to either side of 6 pack. Grain runs in and Upside down V pattern
Transverse abdominis
Deep lay ab muscle that run under the 6 pack
