Muscles of the Gluteal Region Flashcards
What are the muscles of the gluteal region?
Superficial group: -gluteus maximus -gluteus medius -gluteus minimus -tensor fascia latae Deep group: -piriformis -obturator internus -gemelli (made up of superior + inferior gemellus) -quadratus femoris
What is the nerve supply to the superficial gluteal muscles?
All superior gluteal nerve (L5, S1, S2) apart from gluteus Maximus which is the interior gluteal nerve (L5, S, S2)
