puckers mouth “kissing muscle”
sartorius
crosses legs (only muscle that crosses from the hip to the knee joint)
soleus
points toes down (ballerina toes) located on the back of the leg
zygomaticus
pull mouth into a smile
abduction-adduction
abduction: brings closer to midline
Adduction: ores further away from midline
depression-elevation
Depression: zygomatic opens the jaw
Elevation: zygomatic closes the jaw
extension-flexion
Extension: increases angle
Flexion: decreases angle
origin-insertion
Origin: beginning (less movable) proximal attachment
Insertion:distal attachment (more movable)
plantar flexion-dorsiflexion
Plantar Flexion: point your toes down Dorsiflexion: point your toes up
Be able to name the four muscles of the quadriceps femoris complex
