-ABCDE
-Blood- FBC, MCV, WBC, ESR, UE –> check infective markers
-MRI - plaque leisons in white matter in the brain
- Bone profiling - Ca and Mg
Autoimmune screen - ANA and ANCA
Lumbar puncture - oligoclonal bands, look in CSF for pleocytosis
- EEG
differential diagnosis for MS
blood in eye retinal detachment vitral hemmorhage occlusion optic nerve
MS management - 8 points
some say dont play there cause of predators
- stabilise
- steroids- prednisolone or methylpred (IV)
- dexamethasone
- plasmaphoresis
- tysabin
- carbamezapine
- OT
- physio
MS can cause 3 things
- pseudo bulbar palsy
- urinary incontinence
- muscle spasms
