anorexia nervosa
intense fear of gaining weight, severe food restriction, low body weight (poor self image, standards, rewarded)
bulimia
cycles of binge eating, purging, strong feelings of guilt after binges (poor self image, standards, rewarded)
ASD
developmental disorder that affects how a person communicates, interacts, and experiences the world (social challenges, repetition, focused interests, sensitive to sensory input) –> genetic
ADHD
inattention type: cannot pay attention, can sit still
hyperactivity-type: can pay attention, cannot sit
schizophrenia
hallucinations, delusions, disordered words/thoughts, word salad, inappropriate behavior, flat affect (helped with antipsychotics to minimize dopamine)
major depressive
intense sadness, at least two weeks (low serotonin, helped with SSRIs)
persistent depressive disorder (dysthymia)
baby depression, intensity and length of time diff. (2 years, less intense)
bipolar 1
extreme on both ends (low serotonin, high noripinephrine)
bipolar 2
hypomanic, not as intense (low serotonin, high noripinephrine)
phobia
fear of a particular object or situation, altering your life around that
agoraphobia
fear of going outside, crowds, or being in places where escape is difficult
