  1. Missed menstrual period
  2. Positive Pregnancy Test
  3. Abdominal PAIN
  4. Vaginal “spotting”

Therapeutic Management of Ectopic Pregnancy

A
  1. Confirm ectopic pregnancy by ultrasound and hcg levels
  2. Monitor bleeding
  3. If tube is intact: methotrexate (chemotherapy drug, interrupts cellular division therefore stopping the growth of the fetus and saving the tube), salpingostomy
  4. If tube has ruptured: salpingectomy
  5. Follow up: rhogam, counseling
