module 6 - 19.8 incomplete dominance, co-dominance & multiple alleles Flashcards
1
Q
what is codominance?
A
when both alleles are expressed, both are dominant (red+white= red and white are expressed)
2
Q
what is incomplete dominance?
A
when neither allele is dominant so both are expressed and contribute equally to the phenotype (red+white=pink is expressed)
3
Q
how are genes changed to alleles?
A
mutations, and is possible for genes to have more than 2 alleles (multiple alelles e.g. ABO blood group)
