A

make decisions for the benefit of one thing and the expense of another thing
-occur on a daily basic and manifest themselves overtime
-if an individual spends time/energy satisfying one resource need, that time/energy is unavailable for satisfying other needs

A

-Eintake= the total energy an individual ingests
-Erespiration= total energy devoted to getting oxygen into the cells and body
-Eassimilation= total energy converted to living tissues in the organism
-Ereproduction= total energy for reproduction
-Ewaste= total energy lost in waste, heat or insufficiency

what is the principle of allocation? what is fitness?

A

fitness= theory of natural selection is that individuals will possess traits (physical, physiological, behavioral) that is fitness optimizing (increases survival rate)
-biggest allocation of energy is reproduction vs survival
