To prevent skin breakdown, contractions, and discomfort
What are the different ways to position a pt?
Fowlers, lateral, prone, sims, supine
What are some positioning devices?
adjustable beds, siderails, pillows, trapeze, footboard/foot cradle
What allows or prevents movement?
bones, joints, cartilage, ligaments, tendons, muscles, nerves
What factors aid balance?
line of gravity, center of gravity, base of support
what is Joint Mobility?
maximum movement of the joint in alignment with its natural ability
