Applications that fail to launch
If an application fails to launch, check whether:
It’s disabled.
The correct permissions are granted or blocked.
Application permission types
These are particular to Android devices:
All the time (Location only).
Allow only while using the app.
Ask every time.
Don’t Allow (Blocks all app permissions).
Applications that fail to close
If an application fails to close, you can force stop it by selecting the Settings icon, selecting Apps, and then selecting View all apps. Scroll to the applicable app, and then select ** Force Stop**.
Applications that crash
If an application crashes, you can:
Clear its cache. Example: Select the Settings icon, select Apps, and then select View all apps. Scroll to the applicable app, select Storage & cache, and then select Clear Data.
Uninstall and reinstall it. Example: Select the Settings icon, select Apps, and then select View all apps. Scroll to the applicable app, and then select Uninstall.
Applications that fail to update
If an application fails to update, check its network connections and your account credentials.
Applications that are slow to respond
If an application is slow to respond:
Shutdown hibernated apps.
Example: Select the stacked icon at the bottom of the display, and then select Close all.
Operating system fails to update
If your operating system (OS) fails to update:
Check your network connections. Example: Select the Settings icon, select Wi-Fi, and then check the details of the connection.
Check the mobile data settings. Example: Swipe down from the top of the screen, and then select the mobile data icon.
Restart the update process.
Battery-life issues
If you think the device has battery issues:
Replace the AC adapter.
Repair the charging port.
Dim the screen.
Enable power saving. Example: Swipe down from the top of the screen, and then swipe right and select Battery Saver.
Random reboots
If the device is randomly restarting:
Check for potential damage.
Uninstall recently installed applications.
Perform a factory reset.
Connectivity issues
If you think connectivity issues are occurring, check:
Connection settings.
Bluetooth. Example: Select the Settings icon, and then select Bluetooth.
The Wi-Fi connection. Example: Select the Settings icon, select Wi-Fi, and then check the details of the connection.
Near-field communication (NFC).
