When to suspect MCTD?

A

When a patient has features of an AICTD but does not fit a diagnostic criteria

Common presentations:
- Raynauds + nail fold abnormalities + postitive serology
- Rash + positive serology with other non-diagnostic features + biopsy with vacolar change
