Q

what occurs during prophase?

A
  • chromosomes condense (become visible) and two chromatids are joined by a centromere.
  • nuclear envelope and nucleolus disintegrates and spindle forms.

Q

what occurs during metaphase?

A
  • spindle fibres attach to chromosomes by centromeres.
  • chromosomes line up along the equator of cell (attached by their centromeres to the spindle fibres)

Q

what occurs during anaphase?

A

Q

what occurs during telophase?

A
  • chromatids reach poles and nuclear envelope and nucleolus reforms.
  • spindle fibres disintegrates and the cytoplasm divides.
