A

NATIONAL PRIDE = everyone is able to come together to support their national team and create a sense of community
e.g Team USA programme supported american athletes competing in Games by fundraising etc

POLITICAL IDEOLOGY= Gov can use sport as a tool for this (their own propoganda)
e.g Beijing Olympics 2008, China showcased in positive change as global political and economical power

HEALTH = Health and well being e.g change 4 life, reduce crime rates by boxing

ECONOMIC BOOST = boost tourism / economy by hosting major events
= jobs, tourists, revenue
e.g 2010 world cup in south Africa generated 3,6 billion
