Outline Milgrams procedure.
1.All participants and one confederate (Mr Wallace) drew roles out of a hat where Participants would always be teacher and Mr Wallace as learner.
2.The learner was strapped to an electric chair and the participant was given a 45volt shock to enhance authenticity.
3.Teacher would ask word pair questions and if Mr Wallace got it wrong then he would be shocked, each time increasing by 15 volts.
4.If teacher didn’t want to continue, experimenter jack William’s gave standardized prods like” please continue”
5.P who went up to 450v were classed as obeying and those under 450v disobeyed.
6. They were observed through a one way mirror and all participants were debriefed and reunited with the victim.
