What is the mechanism of action of Caplacizumab?
A
Binds to the A1 domain of vWF inhibiting interaction w/platelets, thereby inhibiting interaction with platelets and reducing platelet adhesion/consumption.

What is the mechanism of action of Eculizumab?
A
It binds to C5 thus inhibiting the cleavage of C5 to C5a and C5b to form the C5b-9 complex needed for lysis

When giving Eculizumab what is needed first?
A
Patients must get vaccinated against encapsulated organisms (N. Gonorrhea, H. flu, Strep Pneumonaie). Will need abx for 2 weeks after starting.
